Horses we've known and loved!
The horses on this page have all went on to new homes. Many of
them are horses we bred and raised. Some are horses that we rescued,
rehabbed and rehomed. All of them blessed our lives.. some for
several years, others for only a few months, most importantly all of
them taught us something and left some wonderful memories with us!
April gave us two beautiful foals,
Koko and Ebony and many
wonderful rides. Shes a
sweetheart of a little mare and
now lives in Kansas with John
and Judy.
Koko was the first foal born at
Summer Winds. We'd raised
quite a few foals before him but
he was the first one officially
born to one of our mares and
we sure had fun raising him!
Koko now lives with Aaron and
Casey in Texas and we expect
to hear hes doing great things!
Hes an awesome young horse!
Ebony was Aprils second foal
born while we had her and
quite a surprise since she was
born early! Ebony was the
only one of our 2005 foals that
got to stay in Oklahoma
besides the one we kept!
Magic was our last foal to be
born in 2005 and a real
sweetheart. She now lives in
Arizona with Ali and her family!
Buddy was a wild
unhandled yearling
hafflinger cross pony
that we rescued from
auction and rehomed.
Smokey lives with my sister
Kathy and her family in
Kansas and is much loved and
much spoilt! Its wonderful to
get to watch him grow up!
Buddys half sister Missy was
wearing a halter that had
worn into her nose and
dragging a piece of broken
lead rope when we brought
her home from auction. She
had to be roped to remove it
because we couldn't get near
her.
Jasper was a true joy to work
with! This boy has a heart of
gold! He now lives with Lyn in
Fresno, Ca.
Strider was a wonderful horse! One of
the most willing and sensitive horses
that we've ever worked with! Den still
misses riding him! He lives with Laura
in Ok City, Ok now!
She now lives in Tx
with Paula and is doing
cow work! She was sure
a hard one for me to
part with!
Dancer is a Southern Sunrise mare
that now resides with Nika and Peta in
Tahlequah, Ok
Diamond is a spotted
saddle horse that now
lives with Shannon here
in Ok.
Bug was a delightful
little quarter horse mare.
Joe had always felt
overwhelmed on the
bigger horses just
because of their size.
Bug was just his size
without the pony
attitude! She now lives
with the Bens family in
Colrado Springs, Co!
Chance was a sweet
little gelding that we
brought home from Mo
as a 2 year old to start
under saddle. He now
lives with Chera in
Texas.
Flash and Isa were both
rescues from auction. Both
were stud colts who were
retaining testicles. Isa was a
very wormy yearling. Flash
was only 3 months old and
suffering from joint
problems from being
weaned so young. Isa
dropped late and was gelded
and went to live with the
uncle of my sons girlfriend.
Flash had to have surgery to
remove his retained testicle
and is now living in SE
Kansas.
Misty was one of my
favorites. I rode her the
summer that Raven was
pregnant with Breezy
and we bonded nicely.
Shes a sweetheart of a
fox trotter and I know
that she and Darlene are
loving trail riding in
Manitoba, Canada!
Snow was a very special
horse for us. We raised her
from a very young age and
spent a lot of time with her
because she was so sweet
and people oriented. She now
lives with John and Linda
Farr in Vermont. Shes one of
those horses that i still wish i
hadn't sold. But its wonderful
to know that shes got such a
super home with such special
people!
