Besides getting touched all
over Dreamy also learns that
having the lead rope draped
all over and around her goes
with the good human scratches!
Sometimes training gets just a
little overwhelming and you
gotta stop for a snack!
When she tries to run
away from the rope we
just quietly follow her
and keep rubbing. When
she stops walking we
stop rubbing and
remove the rope so that
she learns that the way
to stop something that
bothers her is to stop
walking and stay with
her humans.
Ears are often a hard area to
desensitize in foals but
Dreamy likes having hers
scratched. One reason shes so
accepting of having her ears
handled is because we handled
them a lot when we were
imprinting her at birth
